Vita Therapeutics and Westwood & Wilshire Team to Bring on SVP of Pre-Clinical
Baltimore, Maryland, December 1, 2021-- Vita Therapeutics, a cell engineering company aiming to develop life-transformative treatments, has brought on Amy Wesa, PhD, as the SVP of Preclinical Sciences. Vita was founded out of Johns Hopkins University in 2019 and utilizes induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technology to engineer specific cell types, designed to replace defective ones in patients.
Dr. Wesa brings over 20 years of translational cell and gene therapy experience to the role. She joins Vita from her position as Vice President of Research and Development at Champions Oncology, where she spent three years in roles of ascending responsibility. Prior to Champions, Dr. Wesa served as the Associate Director of Immuno-Oncology at Intrexon and Director of R&D at Celsense. Before joining the industry, Dr. Wesa was an Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Immunology at The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She received her PhD in Cancer Biology at Wayne University School of Medicine.
