Vaxart and Westwood & Wilshire Collaborate to Appoint Vice President of IT
April 25, 2022, South San Francisco, CA— Vaxart, a clinical-stage biotechnology company, has brought on James Lay as Vice President of Information Technology. The company is developing a range of oral vaccines which could dramatically improve patient acceptance, reduce supply chain costs, and increase vaccination rates globally.
Currently in Phase II trials, Vaxart’s S-Only COVID-19 vaccine candidate has successfully generated antibodies to the original COVID-19 virus strain and to the beta, delta, alpha and gamma variants in the serum and nasal mucosa of non-human primates. Vaxart plans to build upon their strong momentum by launching additional studies in 2022.
James joins after serving as Senior Director of Information Technology at Notable, a mission-driven company transforming the way cancer is treated. James has previously held IT leadership roles at several companies focused on medical device manufacturing and biotech research, including Thoratec (acquired by Abbott Labs), Solta Medical (acquired by Bausch Health), and Labcyte (acquired by Beckman-Coulter LS).
